Required player actions

  • 8 carries when no opponent engages, then releases the ball as a defender commits.
  • 6 adjusts behind a carrying teammate so the forward action does not disconnect the team.

Engage in a 1v1 or 2v1

SUB-PRINCIPLE 03

Find a player beyond pressure

Connect a free teammate between lines or behind the defence.

SUB-PRINCIPLE 04

Switch to the weak side

Move the ball away from pressure toward available space.

Blue wash: Attacking half · Gold box: Right-side progression and space between lines · Gold rings: key roles

Required player actions

  • 6 scans the far side before receiving the escape pass from the crowded side.
  • 2 and 7 stay available at different heights so the switch has a useful next action.
  • 4 and 1 support an indirect switch when a direct pass would travel through pressure.
