FOR COACHES & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Build around the way you understand development.

An individual development plan and a program player pool serve different purposes. One organizes a player’s next actions and review; the other helps coaches find people within a wider environment. The right player development software begins with the process your coaches actually use.

Give objectives a practical place to live.

Paula’s player workspace includes strengths, development priorities and coach notes. Its IDP section supports goals with an area, review date, player actions, success criteria, progress evidence and status. Those fields provide a place to record the intended focus and return to it later.

The useful question is how your staff discusses development. Do you begin with a player conversation, a positional expectation or an observation from training? We use that process to decide what a record should contain and how someone should review it.

Distinguish development plans from program records.

Futures uses a different structure. Its U12 and U13 pools group players by position and link to individual profiles. The existing profile form records a coach name, date and overall rating from 1 to 4 in half-star steps, with previous entries shown in a history.

Those records support a different task from Paula’s goal editor. The Futures case study does not present an IDP tool or automated development analysis. Its value is the connection between the program’s existing pools, profiles and dated coaching entries.

Connect the information to the learning environment.

Development also depends on the reference material coaches use. Futures contains coaching guides for small-sided games, 1v1, 2v1 and technical work, plus prepared session pages. Paula connects session exercises to her game model. Each makes a different part of the coaching context available.

For a new project, we discuss how curriculum, observations and development objectives should relate. Ratings alone do not establish an outcome. The software should preserve useful context and support your review process without pretending to make the coaching judgment.

Questions about your project

Does every implementation include IDPs?

No. Paula has an IDP workflow; the verified Futures example has a different profile and rating structure. Your process determines whether development goals, ratings, observations or another agreed format is appropriate.

Can we use our own evaluation language?

Your terminology and review process are part of project discovery. We would agree the fields, scale and supporting context before building an evaluation workflow. Existing example scales are not a required standard.

Are these real youth-player records?

No. The public case studies preserve the real interfaces while using fictional player information. Their public samples are separate from the internal working platforms and contain no private player ratings.
