Starting picture · Blue: Northbridge · Sand: opposition · Gold rings: focus players · White dot: ball

A starting picture for the practice, with the focus players highlighted. Both teams keep their 4-3-3 roles; movement and decisions develop through live play.

Organization

Full pitch, 11v11 including goalkeepers; both teams retain 4-3-3 roles. Start with an attacking right corner: midfielder 10 takes, midfielder 8 offers short, and striker 9 attacks centrally.

Practice task

10 reads the near-side defender and signals either a delivery to 9 or a short combination with 8. Wingers 7 and 11 occupy separate finishing spaces; play continues to either goal.

What to observe

On four of six corners, the signal is understood and the selected route reaches a teammate or a genuinely contestable target without leaving the central counter route unprotected.

Progression

Defenders change their near-side pressure after the initial signal; 10 and 8 may revise the option before restarting.
